The Death of Democracy

I have long argued that the 5-4 division that Republicans have forced on the Supreme Court was not a split between liberals and conservatives, but between four decent, centrist justices and five corrupt criminals who are nothing but sleeper agents, committed to destroying democracy in this country so that the richest people in the world, and the corporations they own, can run America as an effective despotism.

These evil people have not needed to do their dirty work very often to steal control of the country from the people.  Oh sure, there are a thousand mean-spirited decisions they have made over the years.  But three acts stand out.

The first was the destruction of the Presidential election process to place a crooked, terminally corrupt person in the White House- someone who in eight years destroyed our nation's economy, and deliberately destroyed the government's ability to function.  The second was the Citizens' United decision, which essentially allowed the richest Americans to buy all of the elected officials in the country.

The third act of corruption came today.  We know perfectly well, at this point, that the Republican party and what it represents cannot ever again in this country win fair, open national elections.  Too many people have seen the evil that lies behind the curtain, so that today, only the oldest, whitest, stupidest voters still support them. So these criminal Justices, with neither history nor law on their side, summarily ruled that Republicans are allowed to engage in massive action to prevent Democrats from voting.  From now on, for the foreseeable future, here is the story of politics in the United States:  Democratic votes, versus Republican cheating, fraud and dirty tricks to keep Democrats from the polls.  This is not democracy.

Remember today- June 26, 2013. Today is the day that democracy finally died in the United States of America.

The SCOTUS decision undermines democracy, and this chapter will not end peacefully. For my part, I intend to get in their faces; and if this doesn't work ... well ... I'll explore other options.
I renew my efforts today, more letters, more visits to the state house, more calls, more donations to liberal causes.
