Wingnut Wrapup

The wingnuts are light on the ground today. I think that they've been so traumatized by their boy Mark Sanford's excellent adventure that they are feeling the vapors this morning. I'm sure they will be back on track by tomorrow. In the meantime, here's what there was:

Kathleen Parker, Town Hall: " WASHINGTON -- A wise man once said that love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence.
No one who managed to get through the torture of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford's news conference admitting to an affair would disagree. "

Sorry, Kathleen. In this case, it's the triumph of stupidity and arrogance over intelligence. Of course, that's true about just about everything Republicans do, isn't it?

Dan McLaughlin, Red State: "Perhaps the most telling moment in the past few days’ controversy over South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford’s absence ...came during the period when his staff was putting out the story that Sanford was hiking the Appalachian Trail, and the Democratic National Committee rushed out a press release blaring that the Trail had received stimulus money, and therefore Sanford - as an ardent opponent of the stimulus bill - was a hypocrite for walking on ground that had been touched by Obama’s pork-barrel bill."

No, Dan, I think the most telling moment was when it turned out that another Republican was a lying, self-absorbed bastard. Of course, you might be right, since I'm not sure that's what you would call news.

"The incident speaks volumes about the peril the nation faces to its way of life...."

Really? How? Maybe if all American men desert their families for Argentine women, our population will dwindle to zero. Or maybe you mean the peril we face from hypocritical Republicans? No, somehow I don't think that's what you are talking about. And I was just about ready to agree with you.

"at a time and place when the nation desperately needs champions of our traditional liberties, he was one of only a few people who could really have made a difference."

Actually, we have some great champions of our traditional liberties, Dan. They're called Democrats. Deal with it.

Warner Todd Huston, Red State: "Did Obama Say We Should Kill the Old Folks to Save Money Last Night?"

I Don't think he did, Warner, but I'll check into it if it will make you happier.

Okay, I googled "Obama Kill the Old Folks." Nothing. That is, unless you count about a thousand lunatic right wing rants like yours, Warner.

Little Pammy Geller: "Jihadist Forum Thread Discusses If and When One May Eat the Flesh of U.S. Soldiers"

Glad you're on to the really important stories, as always, Pammy

Power Line: "Sarah Palin's supporters would add her to the list of those unlikely to have a nasty skeleton in the closet..."

Are you kidding me? Come on, we've already seen more skeletons in there than the Roman catacombs. Corruption, drug busts, armed robbery, teenage unmarried pregnancy, shopping at Nieman Marcus without a license, abuse of moose hunting permits...what more do you want, serial murder and pedophilia in public?

Connie Hair, Human Events: " Senator: This Administration Thinks You’re Stupid."

And if you are a Republican Senator, they're right.

Rachel Marsden, Human Events: "Compare Obama’s wish for Iranians...with the words of George W. Bush to the Iranian people in 2008: “My thought is that.... they've got no better friend than George W. Bush...."

This is too stupid and juvenile to even mock. It mocks itself.

Victor Davis Hansen, National Review Online: "Obama’s confusion about the world’s bad actors suggests that he needs a general refresher course in the world of thugs."

And who better to give him that than the Republicans.

Catch ya later. And, wackos, don't let it get you down that one more of your leaders has turned out to be a lying hypocrite. We expect more from you in the future.
